Terror suspects to stand trial on April 14
Manama: The Chief of Terror Crimes Prosecution, Advocate General Ahmed Al Hammadi, yesterday said investigations into the activities of a terrorist group have been concluded.
Al Hammadi disclosed that 15 suspects had been identified, of which five are being held in custody.
He stated that investigations, indicated that the terrorists were responsible for a series of attacks that took place in 2014 and 2015. The investigations also found that one of the suspects, who remains a fugitive outside Bahrain, recruited members of the group and supplied financial support and the materials required to carry out the terrorist attacks.
The Advocate General confirmed that the case would be heard at the High Criminal Court on April 14, and that the defendants continue to be afforded full legal rights, as protected by Bahraini law.
