Bahraini accused of molestation acquitted for no evidence
Manama : A Bahraini man was acquitted in a molestation case due to lack of evidence. The defendant was put on trial on charges of sexually abusing three brothers, aged seven, 11 and 12.
The case was reported to the police by the trio’s father who accused the 20-year-old defendant of molesting them alongside two other teenagers. He alleged that the assailants threatened them not to reveal the incident to anyone.
“They exposed my children to a pornographic movie, and they asked one of them to make obscene acts,” the father revealed to prosecutors.
The defendant, however, denied even knowing the children, stating that he was shocked to be charged in connection with the case.
“They are my sister’s neighbours. I don’t know them,” he said during the interrogation.
The father also took a U-turn in his statements when he was summoned by the court to testify. He said his children had made false allegations.
