Bahraini woman sued for cheating husband
Manama : The High Criminal Appeals Court started hearing the appeal of a woman in an adultery case.
Her husband filed the case against her after allegedly catching her with another man.
The woman was earlier handed down two years behind bars.
The husband allegedly caught the duo dinning in a restaurant and found romantic messages from him on her cellphone.
The husband and wife reportedly had a “normal relationship” for four years, and they have a girl child.
“But in 2013, her behaviour became very suspicious. She refused to have sex with me, and started listening to Indian songs. I searched her phone and found that she was chatting with him on WhatsApp, as well as talking to him on the phone at night,” he said.
“I found out that they were dating each other, so I took a screengrab of their conversation,” the husband told prosecutors.
The wife’s boyfriend was studying with her in the same institution.
Despite several warnings, the husband said, he did not stop dating her.
“This prompted me to file a complaint,” the husband stated.
