No Bahraini passengers were aboard the UAE-based budget carrier, flydubai, which crashed yesterday in southwestern Russia, killing all 62 people on the plane.
In a telephonic conversation with DT News yesterday, a flydubai spokesperson confirmed that there were no Bahrainis aboard flight FZ981, which took off from Dubai and was scheduled to land at the Rostov-on-Don airport.
The company explained in a statement that “44 of the passengers were Russians, along with eight Ukrainians, two Indians and one Uzbekistani.
There were a total of 55 passengers including 33 women and four children, while the remaining seven were crew members.”
“flydubai is deeply sorry to confirm the following information in relation to the tragic accident involving flight FZ981, which was flying from Dubai International (DXB) to Rostov-on-Don (ROV),” the company had initially stated.
