Bahrain Ambassador visits RAF Coningsby
Manama : Bahrain's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has paid a visit to RAF Coningsby station in Lincolnshire, where he was received by Officer Commanding Royal Air Force Coningsby, Group Captain Jez Attridge.
Bahrain's Ambassador conducted a tour, during which Coningsby Officer Commander gave a detailed brief on the Typhoon fighter, a multirole combat jetfighter, which has entered service in July 2008 and played a key role in the coalition attacks in Libya and Syria.
Bahrain's Ambassador pointed the deep-rooted relations between the two countries based on joint interest.
He noted Bahrain's recent support provided for British air force and military forces based in Bahrain represented in the start of construction work on a British naval forces facility in Bahrain, which will be officially opened in late 2016 as part of a defence agreement between the two kingdoms.
