HM King Bahrain visits Royal Guard

Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa paid a visit today to the Royal Guard, in the presence of BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. He was welcomed on arrival by Royal Guard Commander Brigadier Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Commander of the Royal Guard Special Force Major Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He was also greeted by senior officers. Then, after the national anthem, HM the King inspected the parade.

The Royal Guard Commander gave a speech in which he hailed the royal visit which he described as a boost to the power and determination for the BDF personnel. He paid tribute to the Duty Taskforce 3 who returned from the battlefield in Yemen and the Duty Taskforce 4 there for their courage and resolve to achieve victory on the enemies of Islam and the Arab nation.

Brigadier Shaikh Nasser commended the valuable royal directives in support of the Yemeni people and legitimacy there as well as Bahrain's participation in the Saudi-led Arab coalition. He lauded the efforts of HM the King to achieve complementarity between the GCC countries and unity against threats to regional security, describing the royal decisions as historic, strategic and a bulwark against enemies. He also extended thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier as well as the BDF Commander-in-Chief for their unrelenting efforts to remove all obstacles.

HM the King decorated a number of officers, non-commissioned officers and members of the Special Operations Duty Forces of the Royal Guard in recognition of carrying out their duties to the fullest.
HM the King commended the Royal Guard troops' bravery and high competence in performing their duties alongside their brethren in the Saudi-led Arab coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen in accordance with the UN resolutions.

HM the King emphasised their role in maintaining regional security and standing against external interference. He congratulated the Royal Guard staff on the Royal Guard Day which is celebrated on March 25 and wished them further success.

The celebration was attended by the Defence Affairs Minister, the BDF Chief of Staff and senior officers.
