Bahrain court to hold final trial for corrupt jail guard on April 6
Manama: Closing arguments will be heard on April 6 in the trial of a prison guard accused of accepting bribe. He reportedly facilitated the entry of a phone as well as nuts and Viagra pills to an inmate in Jaw Prison.
His illicit act came to light following a tip-off to police. He was found to have got an iPhone 6, two Samsung phones and BD2370 from the inmate’s brother in exchange of smuggling aforementioned items to him inside the jail.
According to court files, the prison guard, an Asian origin, was convinced by the inmate that he could bring his family to Bahrain and promised him to give him a house and a car if he smuggled the items to him.
The inmate and his brother are also standing trial in this case.
