Three expats await verdict in smuggling case
Manama : Three Pakistani men accused in connection with attempting to smuggle drugs into Bahrain will learn their fate on April 20. According to court files, the first defendant was arrested while carrying heroin capsules in his stomach upon his arrival at the Bahrain International Airport.
On a tip-off from the Anti-Narcotic Department at the Ministry of Interior, Customs officials at the airport swung into action and intercepted the accused.
The capsules were found inside his body during X-ray test. His accomplices were supposed to receive the capsules from him after entering Bahrain, but he denounced them during police interrogation. They were arrested at the airport lobby while awaiting the carrier.
