Expat accuses biz partner of assault

Manamacase of a man, who claims to have been cheated and physically assaulted by his former business partner, was among the cases discussed at the Indian Embassy Open House yesterday.

A construction project manager was at the embassy's Adliya premises seeking a new passport after his original passport was confiscated by his former business partner.

Since Rajesh came to Bahrain in 2013, his time in the country has allegedly been spend in constant court battles with his former business partner. He claims to have been harassed, abused and physically assaulted by him.

“I came to Bahrain to run a construction company. I had 10 years experience in Dubai working in the same field. So I was immediately successful when I started work in the company here. With my efforts the company expanded and started getting a lot of sales and publicity,” Rajesh told DT News.

“When he started seeing the results, he changed his mind and tried to take over the projects. He cheated me using forged documents. At this point, I wanted to quit, but he confiscated my passport,” he explained. “He kicked me inside the office, took my mobile phone and stole BD 600 from me. He also snatched my car keys. I was beaten up by him and his brother. I lost everything,” he lamented.

Rajesh said that in the past three years various police cases and court cases have been filed against the business partner.
