Granting test date: People flock to driving school

Manama : The Driving Learning School in Horat Aali yesterday witnessed a sea of crowd, despite being a Saturday, which is a public holiday for formal procedures.

As previously announced by the General Directorate of Traffic, the school is opened only for training purposes on Saturdays, while all offices remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays. However, a large number of people thronged the school since early hours yesterday.

This comes as news was spreading about an announcement that was apparently made by the Driving Learning Directorate, granting learners early driving test dates, after many had to wait for months before they could take the test.

Large number of people could be seen waiting in bus stops located on both sides of the road near the school.

Inside the school, the canteen was full, as many learners came to the school to apply for the new test dates, but ended up having a meal at the cafeteria, after finding that the offices were closed.

Only guards and instructors were available there. They informed that this news about changing the dates of tests came on Thursday and many learners, mainly expats, lined up in serpentine queues to apply on the same day. Yet, they couldn’t confirm the information.
