VIVA launches sixth Man Utd programme

ManamaBuilding on its success from the earlier five seasons, VIVA Bahrain, the official partner of Manchester United, is launching the sixth season of the Manchester United Soccer Schools programme (MUSS).

All students aged 13-15 with a passion for football can register for the try-outs. The 22 shortlisted students will be granted a week of professional football training at the United training ground in Carrington, UK.

The format of the VIVA MUSS programme ensures that all registered candidates get an equal opportunity to showcase their skills during the try-outs tournament on April 22–23 at the Bahrain Football Association grounds in Riffa.

VIVA will also host coaches to help in scouting Bahrain’s best 22 young talents with awards for best player, striker and goalkeeper, to be distributed by the coaches based on evaluation including physical, technical and individual skills.

Following their selection, the 22 young talents will win an all-expense paid trip to the UK to get hands-on experience with professional football players and coaches for a week from July 14-23.

With state-of-the art equipment, the winners will undergo the same training as the United footballers at the Carrington grounds.

The VIVA MUSS programme is one of several grassroots community-driven initiatives, which have grown since its inception, to benefit 117 local youngsters from various cultural backgrounds.

In previous seasons, VIVA, in its partnership with Manchester United, have hosted legends and ambassadors such as Sir Bobby Charlton, Denis Law, Andrew Cole, Denis Irwin, Lee Sharpe, Peter Schmeichel and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Registration is now open at the VIVA City Centre outlet or via VIVA’s website www.viva.bh.com.
