Five Bahraini teens jailed for planting fake bomb
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced five Bahraini teenagers to three years in prison for burning tyres and planting a fake bomb in Sar.
Two other defendants were acquitted due to lack of evidence. The defendants’ ages range between 15 and 17 and they were put on trial in connection with the event, which took place on April 4 last year.
The defendants set six tyres on fire before they placed the fake bomb and fled. Four of the defendants have been arrested following police investigations, and the first suspect confirmed to prosecutors the involvement of the other defendants.
“I received a call from the second defendant and he told me they were planning to burn tyres on the highway. He requested me to participate, and I accepted,” he told the prosecutors.
