Ambulance services to be shifted from Bahrain Health Ministry
Manama : Through a memorandum presented by the Minister of Interior Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Cabinet session yesterday reviewed the steps taken by the Ministry to implement the National Central Ambulance Project, in terms of installations and equipment.
The Cabinet tasked the Minister with chairing a committee to ensure that ambulance services will not be disrupted while transferring the affiliation of the current services from the Ministry of Health to the national Central Ambulance Service.
The panel will comprise representatives from the Supreme Council for Health, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, and any other relevant side.
Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the regular weekly cabinet session, attended by Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Cabinet welcomed the Kingdom’s guests who are visiting the country to attend the Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix race, to be held at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) this weekend.
“HRH Premier lauded the role of HRH Crown Prince in attracting international sports events to the Kingdom and supporting them,” Cabinet Secretary General Dr. Yasser bin Essa Al Naser said in a statement following the session.
The session also discussed proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives and approved the government’s replies as recommended by the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs.
