Facebook and WhatsApp not only get people connected, but also spread fragrance.

Surprised?

Well, now you won’t be when you see Facebook-branded perfume, the next time you visit a retail store.

From keychains to footwears, the wide popularity of Facebook and WhatsApp are clearly visible in the form of these products.

According to shopkeepers, keychains printed with logos of Facebook and Whatsapp, being sold at 250 fils, are flying off the shelves. These Indian-made products were reportedly introduced only a few weeks back.

“From youths to senior citizens, everyone seems to be attracted to these products,” said a shopkeeper in Zinj.

However, he admitted he is not aware of the legal aspects of using brand names without permission.

“I am not aware of any legal issues related to the use of logo. I am selling them because they have good demand in the market,” he said.

A popular supermarket located in Manama is selling a Saudi-made textile freshner called ‘Facebook.’ The product is so popular that it has been allotted a premium space in the outlet.

“Buying and not buying depends on the customer. But there is not denying the fact that the name does attract the attention of most of the customers,” said a salesman in the store.
