Asian held with marijuana at Bahrain airport
Manama : An attempt to smuggle two kilogrammes of Marijuana into the country through Bahrain International Airport was foiled on Tuesday.
Airports Customs Director said the substance was hidden in two wooden tubes.
The Director added that it was seized from an Asian passenger.
“He entered the green lane holding two bags. He was diverted to the red lane when the Customs officers suspected him. Further inspection resulted in the detection of the substance,” the Director stated in a press statement.
He added that the suspect was referred to the Anti-Narcotic Directorate at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science as per legal proceedings to refer the case to the public prosecution.
