Ties at GCC, Arab and global levels can beat terrorism : Bahrain PM

ManamaPointing out the perils of current conflicts that might affect security and economic progress of nations, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has underlined the importance of stepping up coordination at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Arab and international levels.

HRH Premier praised the creative initiatives that have consolidated Arab and Islamic stances, citing the “North Thunder,” launched by Saudi Arabia to show a united Arab and Islamic stance against the dangers of foreign interference into Arab countries’ domestic affairs. “Terrorism has become a threat to the security of the Arab nations and the world.”

HRH Premier was speaking at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday in the presence of several heads of diplomatic missions of friendly countries, led by the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain and the Head of Diplomatic Corps, Shaikh Azzam bin Mubarak Al Sabah.

HRH the Prime Minister asserted that the world is currently going through unprecedented security and economic tensions, which, he emphasised requires vigilance and caution in dealing with them.

HRH Premier stressed that regional and international cooperation on the challenges should be based on new formulae that protect the region’s people against their impacts. “It should ensure that the development process will not be affected by such developments.”

However, HRH the Prime Minister reiterated Bahrain’s support to all efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
