Separate zone for trucks' inspection in Bahrain urged
Manama : Executive Committee member and head of the Transport and Logistics Committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Abdulhakeem Al Shemeri yesterday suggested that a separate zone away from residential areas should be allocated for the technical inspection, registration and traffic contraventions of heavy trucks.
Al Shemeri stressed that the current practice causes inconvenience for both private-vehicle owners and truck-drivers and constitutes a major hurdle to transport and logistics companies.
Meanwhile, he lauded the General Directorate of Traffic of the Ministry of Interior for its ceaseless efforts to streamlining the flow of traffic in the Kingdom of Bahrain and mitigating accidents.
Al Shemeri also commended the Directorate for enforcing laws and taking deterrent measures against violators and lawbreakers.
