F1 Circuit organising transportation for fans

ManamaBahrain International Circuit will once again be organising complimentary transportation for Grand Prix Formula One fans with tickets from selected hotels which started on Monday to take guests to their hotel from the airport.

From tomorrow, guests can avail of the service from the airport to the hotel and the circuit from 6am until 5pm and 3pm until 11pm from the circuit back to the hotel/airport, every half hour on the hour.

This service concludes on Monday with transport available from 8pm to 11pm to take guests back to the airport.

The selected hotels are Ramee Grand, Gulf Hotel, Diplomat Tadisson, Ritz Carlton, Intercontinental Regency, Sofitel Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, Downtown Rotana, Ramada Bahrain, Diva Hotel, K Hotel and Best Western Plus The Olive.

General Manager of Ramada Bahrain Matthias Hellweg said: “We are delighted to be in partnership with Bahrain International Circuit again and to get our guests down to Sakhir to enjoy all the race action and entertainment on offer.”

Mr Hellweg said that members of a number of the teams are staying at the hotel and over the years have built up a good rapport with the staff: “We have a close relationship. We could say the same of the guests who have come over regularly for the race over the years and the familiarity between them and our staff is one of the reasons that they continue to choose our hotel.”

Mr Hellweg also revealed that over the three days of the Grand Prix that the 123-room hotel is 100pc fully booked and for the three days before and after the race the Ramada Hotel Bahrain is around 90pc booked.

Berna Gomes the Sales Manager added, “We have three teams staying with us who include the mechanics and the management side and they have been using Ramada Bahrain over the years and enjoy the hospitality while here, we wish them good luck over the weekend.”

Meanwhile, the Gulf Hotel its Director of Business Development and Strategy Ali Amralla said, “We are pleased to continue our relationship with Bahrain International Circuit over many years regarding transportation for our guests to witness the Grand Prix, and looking forward to what promises to be a great weekend for the hotel and our guests.

Mr Amralla said, “Our occupancy rate will be 100pc over the weekend and our guests when they originally booked mostly enquired about transportation availability to the circuit, which was an important consideration. We will have visitors from all over the world”.
