Jassim Fakhro Fund backs KPMG staff

Manama : A new group of KPMG Fakhro staff has recently completed postgraduate professional qualifications with support of the firm’s Jassim Fakhro People Development Fund.

The fund, created to honour Jassim Fakhro, the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain, was developed to support the professional growth of talented young Bahrainis. It provides local staff with access to financial support along with time and mentoring from more experienced colleagues to help them pursue and complete professional qualification. 

Isa Mohamed and Ali Al Mualem from the firm’s audit department successfully completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualifications, respectively, adding to the list of Jassim Fakhro fund beneficiaries. To date, approximately 110 Bahraini employees have benefited from the programme since its inception in 2001.

KPMG Managing Partner Jamal Fakhro commented on the milestone programme, saying, “Our commitment to investing in the local talent is not beneficial for KPMG alone; it is also valuable for the entire community. By nurturing the skills and experience of young Bahrainis, we contribute towards driving the local economy and ensuring the country’s future. We are proud to have invested over BD386,000 in our Bahraini employees’ education.”
