Olsen fastest in GT3 - Bahrain F1
Manama : Norway’s Dennis Olsen driving for DHL Bahrain was the fastest in the Practice session yesterday in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East as an exhibition support race to the Gulf Air Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
Olsen completed 14 laps with a best time of two minutes 5.255 seconds ahead of second placed Jeffrey Schmidt of the UAE driving for Al Nabooda Racing who was 0.138 seconds behind, with fellow Al Nabooda Racing driver Zaid Ashkanani (+0.234) of Kuwaiti clocking the third fastest time.
Rounding out the top eight from fourth to eighth were Charlie Frijins (Ned, Frijns Structural Steel ME, +0.405), Stefan Rosina (Svk, Lechner Middle East Racing, +0.660), Magnus Ohman (Swe, Mtech, +2.103, Wolfgang Triller (Ger, TriSpa Racing, +2.135) and Bahrain’s Isa Al Khalifa (Team Bahrain, +3.270).
Bahrain’s two other placings were Jaber Al Khalifa (Team Bahrain, +3.298) in ninth and Hamad Al Khalifa (+0.062) in tenth.
The Cup is the most professional and successful one-make GT series in the region and calls BIC its home track.
