Bahrain officials for GCC National Olympic meet
Manama: High-ranking representatives of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) will be attending the GCC National Olympic Committees Presidents’ Executive Office meeting in Riyadh today.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar is travelling along with BOC board member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, BOC Acting Sports Affairs Executive Director Abduljalil Asad, Sports Training and Development Centre (STDC) director Nabeel Taha, Arabic and International Public Relations director Fajer Jassim and Arabic Public Relations head Mohammed Al Zayed.
The delegation will bring several significant issues on their agenda, including the vision of Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the final stages of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa initiative to form a sports dispute panel in the GCC and a recommendation to implement physical literacy programme in the Gulf region.
Other subjects include Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, president of the UAE Olympic Committee, to develop school sports in the GCC, inclusion of basketball at the first GCC Junior Games, and an initiatives themed ‘sports for life in the GCC’.
