Endurance champions honoured

ManamaHRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister deputised HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Honorary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) to crown the winners of HRH the Crown Prince Endurance Championship over 120 Km and local and qualifying races over 40km and 80km.

Shaikh Nasser honoured the first three in the race. Coming in first was Khalid Yousif Al Khalaf (4 hours 35 minutes 25 seconds) riding Makawi from Victorious Stables and averaging 25km/ph, second was  Rashid Al Rowai’ee ($:37.40) and third Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Hassan(4:42.08).

The first stage of the race was dominated by rider Fahad Hilal Al Khatery (1:31:22) but was overtaken by rider Rashid Al Rowai’ee (1:13.24) on the second stage, while Khalid Al Khalaf (1:08.45) took the lead on the third stage and the final stage (41;06). Shaikh Nasser expressed his appreciation to Prince for supporting equestrian and endurance sports in the Kingdom and his patronage of the
championship.

He lauded the riders for showing a great performance which enriched the race and reflected the improvement of local equestrian and endurance sports.
