Iron man comes to Bahrain

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE MIDDLE EAST BAHRAIN TO HOST IRON MAN NEXT DECEMBER

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee asserted that the announcement of hosting Iron Man tournament in the Kingdom of Bahrain next December proves its ability to host international sports events and the reputable international ranking it received thanks to the endless support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Being the first country in the Middle East, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said Bahrain has become a centre for endurance and triathlon sports in the region, adding that the international race will be an opportunity to promote Bahrain’s gains and achievements in the era of His Majesty’s rule, including the kingdom’s 2030 vision.

The race will be held at the same time of the kingdom’s celebrations of the national day and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne in mid-December.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the country will benefit from the experience of hosting Bahrain Triathlon Challenge last year, stressing on the importance of avoiding the negative events that occurred in the past experiment and assuring that the organising committee’s responsibility of ensuring that the race would not harm public interests.

On his part, Bahrain Triathlon Association President Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa said Iron Man Company’s trusting Bahrain with this international occasion proves the improvement achieved by Bahraini sports among the other countries in the Middle East.

Shaikh Saqr affirmed that preparations are ongoing to host the tournament, which will see the participation of a large number of international athletes.

Iron Man Europe and MENA CEO said the company is committed to promoting and improving triathlon sports in the gulf region and the Middle East, adding that the company is glad to have the Kingdom of Bahrain as a partner and the support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to achieve this purpose.
