Pilot assaults wife, faces jail

A Bahrain pilot would get one-month jail term for attacking his wife with a chair if his appeal proved unsuccessful. The defendant was convicted before the Lower Criminal Court, which sentenced him 30 days behind bars after holding him guilty of assault. According to court documents, the defendant inhumanly assaulted his wife with toddler feeding chair multiple times until it got broken.
Later he dragged her around the house holding her hair. The defendant said that he lost his temper after his wife badmouthed him before telling him 'he isn't a man'. It's said that an argument over their child triggered the incident.
The 34-year-old defendant's bail was set at BD100, pending the outcome of his appeal. He was also ordered to pay BD500 as a temporary compensation to his wife.
