Teenager, father get jail for attacking cops
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Bahraini beggar to three years in prison, while his father received six months in jail for attacking police officers last year.
The 18-year-old was arrested after being seen begging in Salmabad. He was taken to a nearby police station, and his father was summoned up.
The latter protested over his son’s detention and tried to take him out of the police station, but a police officer blocked their way.
The 18-year-old boy is said to have pelted a can at the officers and he slapped one of them on the face. His father then also pushed a police officer and insulted him.
The duo has been charged with attacking on-duty police officers. They admitted to their crimes during the interrogation.
