Final arguments to be heard on April 21 in abduction case

ManamaThe closing arguments in the trial of five Bahraini teenagers, who are accused of kidnapping a boy, will be heard on April 21.

The teenagers, aged between 15 and 17, are said to have sexually assaulted the boy after they locked him up on a farm in Sanabis.

The defendants accused him of being a police informer, according to the court documents.

The child told prosecutors that the defendants dragged him into pick-up vehicle and abducted him before they brought  him to the farm.

He stated that his captors were masked during the incident, explaining that he was beaten up in order to extract confessions on dealing with the police.

The defendants allegedly also stole his mobile phone and they later released him in a nearby area.

The first defendant admitted to his involvement in the incident, but he said he had abandoned the area after they attacked him.

The defendants have been charged with attacking a teenager, threatening him and stealing the cellphone from him under torture and abduction.
