Bahrain elected to UN Commission on the Status of Women
Manama: Bahrain has been elected in the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) for a four-year term (2017-2021) and the UN Women Executive Board for the period (2017-2019) at the UN headquarters in New York.
This was announced by Bahrain Foreign Affairs Ministry. The Election of the kingdom is marked as a new milestone in the record of Bahraini women's achievements regionally and internationally.
The ministry said this is in line with the persistent and sincere efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) constant support to Bahraini women in various fields and to boost her status at international forums.
