Lane, Berge crowned overall champions

Manama: Rob Lane and playing partner Nils Berge (12 points) were crowned overall champions of the Porsche Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club after winning the series order of merit, while husband and wife Steven and Samantha Hill came second (8) and Rob Mills and Adrian Morgan (8) third also on the same total.

The final competition in the six week series was played in the Vegas Stableford format and was won by father and son Phil and William Dixon (22), with Steven and Samantha Hill (21) runners-up, giving them four additional order of merit points and pushing them into second place on the overall leader board, while Dave Fernie and Mohamed Akeel (19 on count back) narrowly clinched third place.

Nearest the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by William Dixon and David Wales respectively.

Over 30 golfers competed in the final event of the series. Porsche branded flags and the latest models of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne GTS were displayed on the golf course for the duration of the competition.

The evening concluded with a prize presentation ceremony in the Club’s Members’ Lounge where Taher Ali, Marketing Manager for Porsche Centre Bahrain handed out the prizes.
