‘Capital Heels’ to discuss internet safety on April 12

ManamaThe Capital Club will hold its ‘Capital Heels’ event on April 12. Ravi Jayasundera, Chartered Engineer and CEO of Sysprove Consulting, will host the session to explain how to stay safe on the internet.

Jayasundera does research on internet safety and holds regular awareness sessions to empower professionals, parents, teachers and children.

“Safeguarding children from cyber threats is a cause I am passionate about. Of all the people who use the internet, children are the most vulnerable ones because they are gullible and are not aware of the danger lurking behind their IT devices,’’ said Jayasundera.

He visits schools frequently to spread the message of cyber safety. Capital Club General Manager, Dina Haikel added, ‘’Internet safety is of utmost importance for companies, individuals and their families.  We are not always aware of the necessary measures we need to undertake to protect ourselves from cyber-attacks. We are very pleased that Ravi will be giving us tips on how to protect our online presence, how to secure our information and generally how to become a more effective IT user.’’

Among the organisations Ravi has made presentations to are:  American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF), Rotary Clubs, Bahrain Management Society, American Women’s Association and the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME).
