Forging licence: Expat sentenced to three years imprisonment
Manama : An Indian man, who tried to obtain a Bahraini driving licence by swapping it with a fake Saudi one, has been sentenced to three years in prison. He will be deported as soon as he completes his sentence.
The 28-year-old reportedly filed an application at the General Directorate of Traffic, to obtain a Bahraini driving licence, attaching with the document what he had claimed to be a Saudi driving licence belonging to him.
The Bahraini driving licence was issued and handed over to him, but he was caught later after the Bahraini authorities received a tip-off from their Saudi counterparts, who examined his Saudi driving licence and discovered it to be a fake one.
