Two injured in restaurant fire in Bahrain

Manama : Civil Defence rushed to the scene of a blast in a restaurant caused by accidental gas leakage resulting in injuries to two persons as well as damage to a number of vehicles and nearby shops.

The Deputy General Director of Civil Defence Directorate said the Directorate's machinery reached the accident scene in seven minutes following the report of the incident, and took the necessary actions to secure the area and nearby shops and ensured electric power disconnection.

He urged shop owners to switch off gas cylinder regulators at the end of each working day to prevent any accidental leakage. 

He also called on all citizens and residents to comply with public safety instructions related to gas cylinders connections and to carry out regular checkups to ensure there is no gas leakage. He stressed the importance of safety requirements such as installation of gas leakage detectors emanating from keenness on the safety of precious human lives and properties.
