Bahrain to receive BD2,470,000 in unpaid arrears for advertising in public space

Manama : The Ministry of Works and Municipalities Affairs affirmed that the total unpaid arrears charged for using advertising locations in all municipalities, including the Capital secretariat, is BD2,470,000.
The announcement came in response to what has been published in the local press by the Parliamentary Probe Panel regarding commercial advertising.
The minister said as part of its efforts to boost its various revenues, is currently tracking all revenues, including commercial advertising, amounting to BD 3,196,021(Three million, one-hundred-ninety-six thousand and twenty-one Bahraini dinars), stressing the ministry's keenness on investing new available locations to increase these amounts and to enhance the standard and quality of services provided to individuals and the community.

The ministry explained it is coordinating with the Capital secretariat and the rest of municipalities to take the necessary legal and administrative action against companies which defaulted in making payment.

The ministry expressed its views to the parliamentary investigative panel asserting its commitment to exclude from bidding for any new advertising locations all non-compliant companies which failed to pay up outstanding arrears in addition to the administrative and legal action taken against them.
