Saudi cops solve ‘Mysterious’ murder
Manama : Saudi authorities arrested a murder suspect, who mowed down a 60-year-old man on the Saudi side of King Fahd Causeway while on his way back from Bahrain recently. According to Saudi press, the “mysterious” crime occurred recently at the very end of the causeway, near Al Khobar City by dawn.
The suspect (in his fifties) apparently ran his car over the victim and instantly killed him before fleeing the scene.
However, debris that fell from the car on the crime scene and other evidences led the police to the suspect. After identifying the car make, model and colour, the vehicle was spotted in Riyadh with identical damages to its body.
“The suspect confessed to committing the crime during interrogation and the case was referred to the concerned authorities,” Saudi press reported. Saudi Arabic daily Okaz said that “the case was solved, thanks to four officers of the Eastern Province Traffic Directorate”.
The journal also said that “Saudi Public Security Commander Lieutenant General Othman Al Mohrej honoured the four cops for their brilliant work in solving this mysterious case”.
