13th OIC summit: Crown Prince meets Saudi King

Istanbul : Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who met the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at his residence in Turkey yesterday, discussed regional developments and the countries’ shared priorities, besides the OIC Islamic Summit agenda and their hopes for beneficial outcomes.

The Crown Prince arrived in Turkey yesterday evening to attend the 13th Islamic Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. 

Upon arrival at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, the Crown Prince was received by Turkish Economy Minister Mustafa Elitas, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Turkey Dr. Ebrahim Al Abdulla, the Deputy Mayor of Istanbul and a number of other Turkish officials.

Prince Salman conveyed His Majesty King Hamad’s greetings to King Salman and His Majesty’s wishes for continued prosperity in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the Saudi King extended his best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad and to the people of Bahrain.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince praised the leading role Saudi Arabia plays, under the leadership of King Salman, in increasing cooperation amongst Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the long-standing support it has offered to Bahrain. 

Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.

Crown Prince attends dinner banquet

Prince Salman also attended a dinner banquet hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in honour of the heads of the delegations participating in the Summit.

During the banquet, the Crown Prince conveyed His Majesty King Hamad’s greetings to the Turkish President. 

He also held discussions with various heads of the delegations participating in the summit, regarding ties between Bahrain and their respective countries and topics related to the OIC Summit agenda.
