Murder suspect arrested in Bahrain
Manama : Two suspects accused of murdering an Asian man in a Hoora apartment were arrested after they used the victim’s bank cards, DT News has learnt.
According to a statement released by the Public Prosecution, the main suspect murdered the victim, also Asian, after the latter failed to repay an amount that he had borrowed.
“Police investigations found that the victim used to lend money to others in return for some specific benefits. When the victim asked him repeatedly to return the money, the suspect plotted to kill him, and was helped by his accomplice,” the statement said.
When questioned, the main suspect admitted the charges levelled against him.
“On the day of the incident, he stabbed the victim repeatedly on his neck. He then stole the victim’s mobile phone, credit cards and some money. After that, he went to the other suspect and asked him to keep the stolen goods,” the statement said.
The Public Prosecution charged the suspects with premeditated murder and theft, and remanded them in custody. The main suspect was also taken to the crime scene to enact the murder incident.
