Shaikh Nasser congratulates Saliba

Manama : HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee commended Bahraini athlete Mirna Saliba who won first place in the Ironman African Championship (60-65 age group) held in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

He praised the efforts of Saliba who ensured qualification to the world championship in Hawaii, in addition to the good results she achieved in the annual ATU Sprint Triathlon African Cup and Pan Arab Sprint Triathlon Championships held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt recently.

Shaikh Nasser praised Bahraini athletes who excelled in all age groups of international championships and promoting Bahrain as a rising home of professional triathletes.

He expressed his appreciation to Saliba and the results achieved in South Africa, guaranteeing her spot in the start line of the World Ironman Championship in Croatia next September.

Saliba said she’s honoured and proud of the support of Shaikh Nasser, adding that his patronage of Bahraini triathletes is the main motive for them to achieve good results in international championships and to peruse his vision to make the Kingdom of Bahrain the home of triathlon sports in the Middle East.
