Yaqoob clinches series
Manama : Bahraini national team player Nasser Yaqoob (gross 72) clinched top spot in the third monthly Porsche Golf Cup Series tournament at the Royal Golf Club, followed by fellow national team playet Sultan Al Hakam (74) who took the runners up spot.
The nett section was won by Dagfrid Berge (68), while Colin Dear took second place (69 on count back) took the runner-up spot.
All four players received a Porsche goody bag as their prizes.
Mohammed Al Sayed (243) tops the gross section leader board after three rounds, while Barry Hobday (249) is in second place and in a reversal of this, Hobday (231) leads the nett category with Al Sayed in second place on the same score.
Nearly 90 players took part in this month’s individual strokeplay tournament. The series consists of seven rounds and each player’s best six scores out of seven will represent their final score.
Results: Gross division: 1 Nasser Yaqoob (72), Sultan Al Hakam (74). Nett division: Dagfrid Berge (68), 2 Colin Dear (69 on count back).
