Bahraini woman 'not allowed' to divorce husband who defamed her on Whastapp
Manama : A Bahraini woman, whose husband insulted her on WhatsApp, had her divorce bid rejected.
The woman filed a lawsuit after her husband hurled insults on her on smartphone app, WhatsApp, claiming that she wasn’t virgin.
Her lawyer, Suha Al Khazraji said her client requested the court to allow divorce after the damages he caused to her.
“My client endured all types of mistreatment and didn’t ever get the basic living requirements that her husband was supposed to give her,” Al Khazraji said.
“They lived in a one-room house, along with his mother. She wasn’t able to leave her room or live freely. She suffered extreme depression on account of the mistreatment she suffered at the hand of her husband,” the lawyer added.
