Man killed in road mishap
Manama : An Asian cyclist was killed in a road mishap in Juffair yesterday morning.
Interior Ministry confirmed the incident on its official Twitter page saying, “An Asian bicyclist died after a car hit him on Awal Road in Juffair area. Necessary steps were taken.”
The man was cycling towards Al Fateh Grand Mosque to perform Friday prayers when the mishap occurred. The driver of car involved in the accident, aged 38, was a Gulf national who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
“The deceased hit his head on the windshield of the car and died on the spot,” a source said. Sources also confirmed to
DT News that the victim is Bangladeshi national Mohammed Amran, 38.
