Shaikh Khalid won his first professional MMA fight

The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, Bahrain Athletic Federation President and KHK MMA Organisation Founder HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa won his first professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight yesterday.

Finishing the match in just 11 seconds, Shaikh Khalid won his fight by a magnificent knockout. Following the match, he wrote on the personal page of his Instagram account: “Won the fight with a broken nose”. Thousands on the social media networks shared his pictures instantly.

Making waves 

Under the Royal patronage of Shaikh Khalid, Bahrain’s KHK MMA team has been making significant strides in the international arena through out 2015. 

The team which rose quickly into prominence through their smashing performances had also recently strengthened their lineup by welcoming former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and potential title challenger Khabib Nurmagomedov to their budding roster. In his next, Nurmagomedov will fight in the UFC championship in the US state of Florida.

 In a recent interview with American Fox Sports channel which shed light on the numerous achievements made by the Kingdom in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) field under the leadership of Shaikh Khalid, fighter and trainer of the KHK MMA team Eldar Eldarov affirmed that Nurmagomedov is capable of finishing the fight in the first round itself with his huge fighting skills. He also said that team member Islam is capable of giving huge performances and will deal with his opponents mercilessly.  

The UFC Championship’s main fights consist of five rounds of five minutes each.

Other fights include three rounds, and the winner of a fight is announced when the contestant surrenders, gets knocked out or by counting the points of each  fighter. The Ruth Eckerd Hall in the State of Florida will host the official weight in for the FIGHT NIGHT with the participation of 26 professional fighters.

Meanwhile, KHK MMA amateur team has entered the semi-finals of the Indian MMA Open Championship  in five categories. The event is organised by the All India MMA Association under the supervision of International Mixed Martial Arts Federation as part of the Body Power Expo India 2016 event.
