Security, stability are basic demands of people: HRH PM

ManamaPrime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that facts on the ground have proved that security and stability are basic demands of people.

He asserted that the anarchy and political instability prevailing in some countries prove that democracy that cannot guarantee security and stability will not achieve its goals.

HRH Premier noted that now the ultimate goal of those who used to seek democracy is to live in peace after suffering from the anarchy and lawlessness created by those hiding behind democracy.

The Prime Minister voiced the stances while receiving a number of senior state officials, businessmen and media persons at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

HRH Premier affirmed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has done a lot for the sake of boosting the nation’s standing and enhancing the progress of Bahrainis.

“Bahrain is on the right path of progress, and thanks to HM the King’s wisdom, we are confident to achieve the best for this country and its people,” he said, stressing that the Kingdom’s resources will be harnessed to provide the best health, therapeutic, educational, housing and social services for the Bahraini citizens.

He stressed the need to be always ready to cope with the rapidly-unfolding developments and changes at all levels, especially in the security and economic fields, affirming that the main concern of the Government is to reinforce the security of the country and maintain the pace of the nation-building process.

Prince Khalifa then commended the role of the Press in national issues, praising the contributions of GCC columnists in Bahraini newspapers, which, he said, reflects the size of the existing rapprochement among GCC peoples, and their sentiments of love towards the kingdom.

HRH the Prime Minister urged press and media personnel to use their “pens” as weapons in confronting extremism, lauding their patriotic articles.

Referring to economic issues, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of unity among the members of the business community, calling on business officials to rally together the only ultimate goal of serving the national economy, which, he said, will benefit the business sector.

HRH Premier also hailed the role played by Saudi Arabia, noting that thanks to Saudi efforts to bring Muslims together, the Arabs have regained their influence and strength in international politics.

HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that GCC countries support each other, which, he stressed, reflects the long history of fraternity and rapprochements among these states.
