Qualifying tests for CPISP scholarship applicants begin
Manama : The qualifying tests for the scholarship applicants of the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) commenced here yesterday.
There are about 350 applicants this year from government and private schools, as well as Bahrainis studying outside the Kingdom.
The CPISP, in concert with Bahrain Institute of Finance and Banking (BIBF), held tests for the first group of applicants who met the application criteria on April 15, at BIBF headquarters to assess their English language and critical reasoning skills.
CPISP Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling said the exams will continue till April 22 at BIBF. “This will include an online computer-based test of English proficiency. Besides, three critical reasoning tests to assess verbal, numerical, and diagrammatical reasoning.”
She informed that for applicants currently studying outside Bahrain, the Programme had arranged qualifying tests at their respective locations.
Dr. Gessling said that the next step involves selecting a group of candidates based on the results of their qualifying tests and their Grade Point Average to take part in various training and preparation courses for standardised testing throughout the summer and the next academic year, until the final 10 recipients are selected next year.
