Bahrain PM unhappy with project delays
Manama : Following a surprise visit to Muharraq yesterday, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa directed officials to provide optimal services to ensure the improvement of citizens’ living conditions in the Governorate.
The Prime Minister chaired a working meeting at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday with his deputies and the relevant services Ministers, where he commented on the state of public utilities and infrastructures in Muharraq Governorate.
Prince Khalifa expressed his dissatisfaction with project delays in the Governorate, including Muharraq Central Market project and its consequences.
The Premier directed speedy implementation of delayed actions in coordination with the municipal council and the relevant sides.
The Prime Minister directed the revamping of streets and roads in Halat Bu Maher and taking necessary actions for inviting a public tender for this purpose, besides the paving of unpaved streets, the removal of all obstacles hindering traffic flow from which the inhabitants had complained.
The Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Essam Khalaf, gave a presentation in front of the Prime Minister, regarding the implementation status of current projects in the Governorate.
HRH Prince Khalifa also directed the Ministers to abide by the rules and regulations and disallow any breach or infringement of State-owned lands or misuse of public properties for private purposes.
