One more dies in Bahrain gas cylinder explosion
Manama: A 59-year old Indian expatriate succumbed to burn injuries yesterday, taking the toll in a gas cylinder explosion in Hidd to two.
Ambujakshan Gajendran(59) from Paravoor from the Kollam district of Kerala, who suffered more than sixty per cent burns, passed away at the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
He is survived by his wife and two children back home.
Earlier DT News had exclusively reported the death of Sivanathan Karmegam (43) following the cooking gas cylinder explosion in Hidd two weeks ago.
Both dead bodies are kept at the SMC morgue as families in India agonizingly wait for repatriation.
Sivanathan was standing near Ambujakshan who was cooking food when the gas cylinder (which had a leakage) suddenly exploded on their face.
Heavy truck driver Ambujakshan and accountant Sivanathan worked at Al Ameen Transport Company.
Sivanathan hails from Thirupalaikudi in Tamil Nadu’s Ramanathapuram district.
He is survived by his wife Indira and two children back home.
Company owner Muhammad Al Ameen, who is on a UAE visit, told DT News that he was doing all that was necessary and cooperating with the Indian Embassy in Bahrain to repatriate the bodies.
