Gulf Int’l Bank to organise tree planting initiative
Manama : Gulf International Bank (GIB) is organising a tree planting initiative on Saturday (April 23) to commemorate World Earth Day. Families with children and the general public are invited to participate in the activity taking place at the new Sitra Corniche from 9 am to 11 am.
GIB will organise the planting with the support of the Capital Governorate who will provide the trees and help the Bank’s volunteers and the public with the planting. The Bank registered the Bahrain on the global campaign site via www.earthday.org to mark the Kingdom’s participation in the global campaign.
This initiative is part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme ‘WAGIB’. Launched last year, ‘WAGIB’ is committed to supporting local communities in which the Bank operates with a range of sustainable development programmes and local initiatives. ‘WAGIB’ emphasises themes with long-term positive results in the fields of youth and career development, women’s empowerment, health awareness and the environment.
