Speaker stresses support to counter-terrorism ties
Manama : Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla lauded the keynote address of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the GCC-US Summit, which convened in Riyadh between the GCC leaders and the US President Barack Obama yesterday.
He said the Representatives Council asserts what has been pointed out by HM the King that the GCC countries are facing blatant Iranian interference in their internal affairs and that the Iranian interference is also in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and other Arab and Islamic countries. He added that Bahrain had got evidences proving the Iranian interference in its domestic affairs.
Al Mulla underlined the parliamentary support to boosting cooperation with friendly countries in facing terrorism and ensuring regional security and stability.
He emphasised rejection of the Iranian interference in the GCC countries’ internal affairs, stressing the need to respect the UN charter and the principles of good neighbourliness.
He also praised the GCC-Moroccan coordination and the positive results of the summit held between both sides which underscored historic ties binding Morocco and the GCC countries and keenness to boost counter-terrorism cooperation.
He also thanked Saudi Arabia for the success of the GCC-US and GCC-Moroccan summits.
