Defence witnesses and closing arguments will be heard on September 15 in the trial of five men accused of spying for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, to carry out terrorist attacks across the Kingdom.
Only four of the five are in police custody and court documents indicate the fifth accomplice has absconded to Iran.
The first and second suspects were reportedly recruited by the other co-suspects, aged between 20 and 39.
Among the trio is a 39-year-old, who is already serving life imprisonment in connection with an arms-smuggling case in 2013.
It's claimed the first and second accused were transported to Iran by the trio who paved way for them to enter a camp run by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards last year.
Prosecutors said the duo received training in detonating bombs and using weapons.
The two were also accused of spying for Iran, but the second accused admitted only to receiving training in arms.
He told prosecutors they were taken to a camp, where a person named Mohammed showed them how to connect and plant a bomb.
"They also gave us Kalashnikov weapons and asked us to use them," he said. "After three hours of continuous training, I mastered bomb detonation and use of arms," he added.
The duo was charged with receiving militant training purposely to disturb public order, while all of them were charged with spying for Iran.
