Super 98-Octane to hit local market this week
Manama : Close on the heels of anearlier announcement by Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza on the introduction of a new grade of gasoline, 98 Octane “Super”, a Bapco statement confirmed that it will be available at Busaiteen, Formula One and Sanabis this week, and in Tubli service station at a later stage.
The new grade of gasoline will be introduced to the existing 95-Octane Mumtaz and 91-Octane Jayyid fuel types, in collaboration between the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco).
Super, with its high specifications and environment-friendly properties will power high-performance automobile, and will bring fresh variety to Bahrain’s fuel market to help better meet automobile requirements.
Commenting on this occasion, Bapco’s General Manager – Marketing, Khalid Buhazza, stated that the new product is in line with the directives of the government in fulfilling the demands of the local market.
“The 98-Octane aims to meet fuel product requirements with high specifications in the local market, in compliance with global standards” he said.
“The sale price of the new product will be linked to international prices. Coordination will be made between Bapco and NOGA on a regular basis to review prices according to international market changes,” Buhazza concluded.
