Indian Star clinch Indian Club Cricket Tournament
Indian Star defeated Sherwin Williams Paints by 14 runs to clinch The Indian Club National Hotel Services Seven-a-Side Open Softball Cricket Tournament 2016 at its premises in Gudaibiya which concluded on Thursday evening.
Batting first, Indian Star finished on 45 for four in its six overs thanks to a fine unbeaten knock by Janna (23 off 17 deliveries 3x6) and then bowled out Sherwin Williams Paints for 31 in five overs with Shahzad (one for 10) the best of the bowlers.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Sherwin Williams Paints beat Awan CC by three wickets after the latter made 42 for five in six overs with Yasser (27 off 16, 1x4, 2x6) top scoring and Kassim (one for four) being the best of the bowlers.
In reply, Sherwin Williams Paints reached the target scoring 43 for three in 5.1 overs led by Kassim (15 off 13, 1x6) with Bilal, Sakeeb and Safdar all picking up a wicket.
Indian Star secured its final berth by scoring 46 for five in six overs with Nishant (22 off 16, 1x4, 1x6) the main scorer with a wicket apiece from Sameer and Sounesh.
BMMI in reply were bowled out for 36 in 5.2 overs with Satish (10 off 7) top scoring and Sharath and Punneth claiming a wicket each.
Individual Awards: Man of the Tournament: Nishant Bhat (Indian Star).
Best Bowler: Punneth (Indian Star). Best Batsman: Kassim (Sherwin Williams Paints). Player of the Tournament Final: Janna (Indian Star).
