Minister looks into housing needs of people in Buri, Abu Daham villages
Manama : Minister of Housing Basim Alhamer conducted an inspection visit to the villages of Abu Daham and Buri on Saturday morning, accompanied by a number of senior officials in the Ministry to look into housing needs of the people of the two villages.
The move is line with the directives of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to see to the housing needs of the citizens.
Alhamer briefed the local residents on the Ministry’s housing plans and projects made specifically for citizens on the waiting lists, ensuring that the Ministry is doing its utmost to speed up the process.
He added that the Ministry has been engaged since 2012 with developing an ambitious housing plan, based on speed of construction of new city projects that will enable the it to allocate thousands of housing applications on waiting lists in all governorates of the Kingdom. This is apart from the implementation of residential complex projects scattered in throughout the Kingdom.
The Ministry has already succeeded in completing many and delivering them to the beneficiaries, and is working on construction of 25,000 housing units by 2018, which falls under the 40,000 housing units plan, ordered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
During his inspection visit, the Minister listened to the suggestions of some citizens related to their housing applications and directed those concerned at the Ministry to communicate with the villagers and to follow up on their remarks. He stressed that the Ministry will continue with the concerned authorities to look for suitable land to the specifications suitable for the construction of housing projects in those areas.
He also pointed out that the Ministry would work on a plan and programme of action for the immediate processing of applications and to complete the procedures. This includes allocation of necessary budgets during the next session of the implementation of housing projects in several stages.
